Hi, I'm Mel, Let me share a little story about how Flowerdale Valley started.

When I was growing up, I had a passion for skincare. As a teenager, I had old books with recipes for natural remedies like "marshmallow root infusion" for spots and "egg white face mask" for tightening skin. Looking back, I'm not sure why I needed the latter at that age!

I tried out all those recipes with varying degrees of success. During that time, I also spent a lot of time and money in places like Priceline, health food shops, and the Myer Beauty department. I was fascinated by the wide array of beauty products available, and I must admit, I spent a fortune on them. However, not all of them lived up to their promises.

As time went on, I began to educate myself about skincare ingredients. I learned to avoid products with an overwhelming number of ingredients and brands that were more about marketing and fragrance than actual results. 

Aside from skincare, I also had a deep love for food and cooking. I pursued a career in cooking and, after marrying a beekeeper and moving to the country, I found myself working at a local reception venue. It was there that I encountered brides who wanted local honey as wedding favors. I dove into researching regulations, where to buy jars and labels, and all the details required for making these favors.

Since I enjoyed making jam and soap for my family, I decided to expand my range and create a variety of wedding favors. However, after a few months, I realized that wedding favors weren't really my thing.  That's when I stumbled upon a box of beeswax we had stored away, waiting for the right moment to be used.

Curiosity led me to research what I could make with beeswax. When I came across a story about Cleopatra using a skin cream containing beeswax, honey, and lavender oil, it felt like something out of a fairytale. Inspired, I decided to give it a try, and that's how our best-selling product, Bee Balm, was born.

My friends and I loved the simple beeswax cream and how it made our skin look and feel. Encouraged by this success, I started experimenting with making moisturizers, serums, cleansing balms, and even deodorant.i went back to school to study cosmetic science. Today, we have a beautiful range of skincare products.

I strive to keep everything as simple as possible. Our mission at Flowerdale Valley is to create good, honest skincare that you'll love using. Our products are designed to help your skin look and feel its best so that you can focus on enjoying the rest of your life.
