Sunburn 🌞Anybody else sweltering in this heat right now?
We have had non stop hot days in Victoria for quite a while now

Sometimes one of us spends a little bit too long on the sun and ends up with a bit of painful sunburn

Here's a few things that can help when applied to hot, burnt skin
(Always see a doctor for really bad sunburn. This is just for mild sunburn)

Aloe Vera - straight from the leaf of the plant, you can either scrape the gel out of the leaf or rub the cut leaf onto skin. Aloe vera reduces inflammation and helps to stimulate collegen so that skin can repair itself

I have found it best to then also apply some kind of moisturizer on top as well as the Aloe vera

Natural yoghurt - this is cooling and moisturizing for sore skin. Containing enzymes and probiotics that help with skin healing
Wash off and re apply if needed

Also a cool bath with oatmeal in it is very helpful and soothing too

Flowerdale valley products that should help are

Hyaluronic acid serum

"To help the skin heal faster.” Melissa Doft, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City hyaluronic acid is very hydrating and is produced naturally by the body, hyaluronic acid can help moisturize and plump sun-parched skin
Especially when an oil, moisturizer or balm is then also applied on top

Honey bee balm
The honey and oils soothe sore skin and the beeswax helps to protect and keep moisture in the skin

Rosewater spritzer

Rosewater is anti inflammatory and contains vitamin E so it's very soothing for sore skin too

What's your go to for sunburn?
